Leaning about speech marks

Speech marks  are punctuations used to indicate direct and indirect quote or speech.

Indirect speech tells the idea of what someone said. The exact words are not given.
Eg:The girl said that she is tired.
Direct speech tells the exact words someone said.
For example:"I am tired,"said the girl.
In texts such as narratives, reports, newspaper articles and playscripts speech marks are used.
In a sentence the direction speech can go in the beginning or it can go in the end.A comma always separates a direct speech from the person talking. But if the direction speech is in the beginning of a sentence the comma must be inside the speech marks, however if the direction speech is in the end of the sentence the comma is placed outside the speech marks. And if the direction speech is in the end of a sentence the full stop or any other punctuation mark will be in the speech marks.
